Swiss artists Comenius Roethlisberger and Admir Jahic have created renditions of YouTube videos “in an attempt to disrupt the haphazard collection of archived videos that YouTube has become.” The artist duo has “transformed the visual (virtual) language of ‘broadcasting’ back into physicality by producing illustrations on a heavy handmade paper from virtual references with elemental art materials to do what they do best, that is, add to the confusion.”

Right on, fellas.

You might even consider this a collective form of transmedia narrative, but I’d rather not confuse things any more ;)

Then again, this makes you think about what other elements we can extract from digital culture at large, recontextualize, and then shape as our own.

This also makes you wonder about what experiences can really mean in a world that is this hyper-connected and hyper-socially challenged... And how individuals like you and I can profit from the delivery of alternative, or augmented, perspectives by connecting the dots in more meaningful ways.

Gunther Sonnenfeld

I am a long-time serial entrepreneur and a social technologist whose last executive role was as an ad agency strategist (Omnicom Group). My career began as a broadcast writer/producer/director (NBC) before transitioning into commercials, film and then software development, interactive design, branded content, and more recently, analytics.

I believe that data + storytelling are changing businesses, brands and culture in the 21st century for the better.
